Buderus takes more control of commercial boilers

Buderus

Buderus has increased its range of energy-saving controls for commercial boilers with the MCM10 intelligent sequencing module. Designed for Buderus multiple-boiler systems such as the GB162 range, this multi-cascade module offers additional control operations, simplifies operating functionality and minimises fuel consumption.

The MCM10 can be used with boilers using the integral EMS energy-management controls platform. Each unit can control up to four boilers individually. In addition, up to four identical MCM10 modules can be interconnected to control a cascade of up to 16 boilers. Installation is plug-and-play, and the number of boilers connected is detected automatically.

The running time of each boiler in the cascade is monitored so the boiler use can be intelligently sequenced. The best configuration for boilers to bring into operation in a cascade, even with different outputs, to most closely match demand can also be selected.

If one boiler fails, the sequencer switches over the next boiler and flags the error fault — a useful feature when a guaranteed heat supply is vital.
