A microwave-based sensor from CP Electronics provides occupancy-based control of lighting in areas such as warehouse aisles, where other sensors are prone to false triggering.

It also incorporates a photocell so that it can deliver lux-level control. The sensing range can be adjusted to the length of the target area, with a range of up to 25 m, so occupancy in an aisle can be detected without picking up on adjoining corridors. These sensors are also immune to nearby vibration.

MWS7 sensors are fully compatible with lighting interfaces such as DSA and DALI. There is a range of control options. For example occupancy switching can be over-ridden by an internal or external light sensor to ensure lights are switched on only when required. Suitable lamps can be dimmed rather than switched off to ensure compliance with health-and-safety requirements.

For ease of installation and commissioning, a system can be set and adjusted using infra-red handsets.
