York business at Dubai Airport takes off

All the cooling requirements of this major extension to Dubai International Airport will be met by 59 chillers to be supplied by York International.
One of York International’s largest single orders in its history is for 59 chillers to meet the cooling requirements of Dubai International Airport. They will have a total cooling capacity of 410 MW. Over the last 30 years Dubai International Airport has grown into a global aviation hub. To meet growing passenger numbers, the second phase of the Sheikh Rashid terminal is scheduled for completion in 2006. It includes a third passenger terminal, cargo terminal, two more concourses, a hangar and warehouse, plus a flower-processing centre. The Dubai Department of Civil Aviation has once again chosen York International as its preferred HVAC&R supplier for the cooling requirements of the new terminal and associated buildings. The chillers will use R134a and be made in San Antonio, USA. York Dubai will also design, supply, install and maintain a complete chiller-automation system for all chiller plants are the airport. It includes control and sequencing of the primary chilled and condenser water pumps and cooling towers.
