Distribution boards have integral meters for each load

Eaton

Smart metering for power and lighting is integrated into a range of Type B 200 A final distribution boards from Eaton. This feature enables specifiers and installers to meet the energy-metering requirements of Part L2 of the Building Regulations without having to install separate distribution boards and feeders for each type of fuel.

The sub-metering requirements of Part L2 require energy sub-metering for at least 90% of the estimated annual energy consumption to be assigned to specific end-use categories in new and refurbished buildings with floor areas larger than 500 m2.

These split-metered distribution board are suitable for 3-phase or single-phase applications and provide separate measurement of lighting and small-power grouped loads. The metering and 200 A switch disconnector incomer are completely pre-installed at the factory, so the installer can focus on outgoing circuit requirements. These boards are available in four sizes from 10 to 24 TPN ways.

A summing meter displays net values for each section of the board, plus total load. Having this new information available directly from the meter simplifies integration with an energy-surveillance system.
