RF light switch does not need batteries

Contactum

Contactum has developed a wire-free light switch that does not need batteries. It uses an RF signal to control a relay in the ceiling rose and has a range of up to 30 m.

Operation is piezo-electric, with the pressing of the switch on and off generating the energy needed to send a signal to the relay.

The relay requires a 40 mm hole in the ceiling rose, or it can be installed above the light fitting. One switch can operate more than one light fitting.

Relays are ‘linked’ to a switch by pressing a button on the relay and flicking the switch on.

These switches are available in a range of finishes from the company’s decorative and moulded ranges.
