The compact size of Remeha condensing boilers was put to good advantage in the £30 million refurbishment and extension of St Martin-in-the-Fields church on Trafalgar Square in London. The work included creating new facilities underground by demolishing vaults and excavating below them to create two floors of modern, comfortable facilities.

Boilers to heat the main spaces, both old and new, had to be shoehorned into two new plant rooms designed into a small roof space in one of the existing buildings. Remeha supplied three Gas 310 ECO-5 and three Quinta condensing boilers.

The main Gas 310 condensing boilers installed in the roof supply heating to the north range and air-handling units that supply warm air to the crypt and new spaces. Remeha boilers also supply heating to the church and hot water for the cafe kitchen.

Three Quinta 65 boilers were fitted into a plant room less than 2 m long next to the cafe kitchens. An Avanta 35c condensing combi boiler serves one of the clergy residences.
