Total energy thermal wheels
Flakt Woods TE3 energy-recovery wheels can recover both latent and sensible heat, doubling energy savings compared with recovering just sensible heat. Cross contamination between the airstreams has been independently certified to be less than 0.04%.
Latent heat can be recovered during both the heating and cooling season. During the cooling season, incoming air is pre-cooled and dehumidified.
The transfer centre has a fluted core comprising an aluminium substrate coated with a fast-acting 300 nm sieve desiccant, allowing nothing larger than 280 nm to enter. (An influenza virus is 120 000 nm in size and thus cannot be absorbed.)
