York chiller lands at T5

Ammonia chiller
The first of four ammonia (R717) chillers supplied for Terminal 5 at Heathrow Airport by York is delivered. Rated at 6.6 MW, the chiller was delivered in three sections, winched into the T5 energy centre and then assembled. They will provide chilled water to meet the air-conditioning needs of the buildings. Ammonia was a specific requirement of the design team, which was looking for optimum in energy-efficient, environmentally aware cooling systems.
