Marstair acquires Quartz FCU business

Following the acquisition of Quartz by Marstair, the first fan-coil unit comes off the line at Marstair’s Brighouse factory.
Marstair has expanded its interest in chilled-water fan-coil units with the acquisition of the Quartz business from the Vent-Axia group. The Quartz range of fan-coil units fits well into the Marstair range of Airking chilled-water products, which include ceiling cassettes, wall-mounted units and chillers. Jim Vigor, managing director of Marstair, says, ‘The acquisition is a key part of our plans to grow the Marstair air-conditioning business, both in the UK and in mainland Europe. Our first priority will be to look after existing Quartz customers and ensure they continue to receive technical and commercial support.’ Quartz manufacture has been moved from Dudley factory to the Marstair factory in Brighouse. To provide continuity of customer support, key staff have stayed with the business and will operate from Dudley.
