Electric floor heating demonstrates its efficiency

Self-regulating electric floor heating in the Turkish Embassy in London is achieving energy savings in excess of 20% compared with an unregulated system. Supplied and installed by Jointing Technologies, a partner of Tyco Thermal Controls, the system serves a 50 m2 recreation room that has four doors, a fully glazed roof and seven windows. As a self-regulating system, T2Reflecta senses other sources of heat, such as solar gain through the extensive glazing, and reduces its output. It can also provide more heat where it is needed most, such as next to windows and doors. 500 m of self-regulating cable with an output of 100 W/m2 is installed under the tiled floor in a pre-grooved, thermally insulated, aluminium-covered plate to minimise heat loss and optimise heat distribution.
