Remeha helps ASDA meet its green objectives

This new ASDA store includes two biomass boilers supplied by Remeha.

Two 145 kW biomass boilers are contributing to making ASDA’s new £27 million store in Bootle the most eco-friendly supermarket in the UK. The boilers were supplied by Remeha and made by Gilles in Austria. They are fired by wood pellets.

Modulating and fully controllable, these boilers can be fully integrated with conventional boilers. For this project, they operate alongside a ground-source heat pump and heat-reclaim system. High-temperature operation and the length of time the gases remain in the biomass furnace guarantee clean combustion.

This supermarket incorporates a range of technologies aimed at reducing energy use by 40% and halving carbon emissions compared to a standard new-build store.0
