Plate heat exchangers generate DHW using condensing boilers

Stokvis, plate heat exchanger, DHW, Econoplate

Stokvis has developed a series of packaged heat exchangers to generate domestic hot water using condensing boilers. The Econoplate C series is specifically designed to operate with the lower primary temperatures provided by condensing boilers. With a flow temperature of 70°C, they will achieve a return temperature of about 45°C.

They are available in three ranges, a total of some 50 units, with outputs up to 740 kW.

Features include a fully modulating control valve to give close control of heat input to minimise boiler firing and provide accurate control of DHW temperature. Water temperature is raised from 10 to 60°C in a split second, so there is no legionella potential. There is no need for storage.
