Flexible Control of lighting in the new open-plan environment of law firm Addleshaw Goddard is provide by a Delmatic system based on the LON protocol.

To provide the same flexibility of lighting control when UK law firm Addleshaw Goddard changed the layout of its office in the City of London from cellular to open plan, a Delmatic open-protocol LON control system was chosen. It provide total flexibility of control for zoning and partitioning and achieves energy efficiency through presence-related switching and daylight-linked dimming. The lighting scheme was designed by Chapman Bathurst Specialist Lighting.

As part of the fit-out works, the base-build Delmatic lighting-control modules, installed in 2005, were upgraded to DSI dimming.

The project benefited from Delmatic’s modular hardware approach, which enabled dimming to be added to the original modules simply by inserting a dimming capsule.

In meeting rooms, scene-set modules and custom scene-set panels were supplied, which incorporate the lighting-scene buttons, air-conditioning controls and sensors. Audio-visual interfaces in meeting and presentation rooms integrate the audio-visual functions with the lighting-management systems.

The complete system is monitored through graphical head-end software, which provides real-time status and active system management, calendar time scheduling, programmable load-shedding scenarios, integration with the fire-alarm system and testing of emergency lighting.
