Electrical contractor enjoys benefits of partnering

Bristol-based electrical contractor Avon Combined Electrical Services is enjoying the benefits of partnering after completing one of several major projects — a health centre in Bristol — with main contractor Pearce Construction, consultants, G. K. Salters & Associates and manufacturers Hager and Sovereign. Richard Mullis, contracts director with Avon, says, ‘Using the same team for several projects is beginning to reap rewards. Not only are projects coming in on time and budget, but we are constantly learning from all the partners and improving our offer.’ Horfield Health Centre was a fast-track project with GP practices working from Portakabins while the old centre was demolished and rebuilt. It uses a Hager 250 A panel board for the mains incomer and sub-distribution boards throughout the electrical distribution. Tehalit BR is used for power and data distribution. Wiring accessories are drawn from the Ashley range, and Klik LDS and plug-in ceiling roses are used for the lighting installation. Sovereign supplied fire-detection equipment, intruder detection and a nurse-call system
