Monodraught brings new features to natural ventilation
Monodraught has added a new generation of natural-ventilation systems to its Windcatcher range. Windcatcher X-Air embodies over 35 years of experience and four years of intensive research and development and value engineering.
Moulded in recyclable materials with excellent structural and UV stability, Windcatcher X-Air’s defining features include distinctive styling and patented LED architectural lighting.
The patented corner design increases performance and enables excess wind to bypass the system, reducing loading on the unit in high winds. Each corner fin accommodates an architectural-lighting feature that enables a range of optional colours to be specified.
Other features include Activlouvre modulating louvre blades that minimise resistance and maximise airflow. The internal geometry significantly smooths internal airflow.
Managing director Tony Cull says, ‘Its design and performance has been wind-tunnel tested, and thorough CFD analysis has been carried out by the Universities of Nottingham and Reading. Windcatcher X-Air introduces a lower-cost, technologically advanced system to a natural-ventilation portfolio that includes the current Windcatcher Classic system and the Windcatcher Heritage range.’
