T&A lands airport contract

T&A, Tour & Andersson, commissioning, balancing, valves
Large numbers of balancing valves have been supplied by Tour & Andersson for this airport building in Egypt.

Tour & Andersson has supplied valves for the Sharm el-Sheikh International Airport project in Egypt. The contract included balancing valves from 150 to 250 cm, alongside 251 STAG valves for pump hookups to save time and labour during installation and commissioning. It was the capability of T&A to provide balancing valves that can save installation time that contributed to installer Delta Construction Company choosing these valves.

The HVAC system has a cooling capacity of over 11 MW. Following several demonstrations to help familiarise Delta with the balancing method, T&A supplied its TA Scope balancing instrument as a complementary addition to the project.

In terms of technical expertise, T&A was on hand to support Value Tech, offering technical insight and advice to help ensure a smooth project and avoid installation errors.

The departure and arrival halls and administration facilities comprise a 2-storey building of some 44 000 m2 costing around US$90 million.
