An air-conditioning unit every 10 seconds from LG

LG
LG has increased its lead in the world air-conditioning market with over 10 million units sold in 2004.
LG sold over 10 million air-conditioning units in 2004, making it the world’s biggest manufacturer of air-conditioning products for five consecutive years — according to independent auditors. Figures from Fuji Keizai Co. in Japan show LG taking a 19.7% share of the 51.5 million units sold worldwide last year, representing over 10 million units. That is an increase in market share of 1.3%. In December, LG reached another landmark — reducing the time to produce an air conditioner to 10 seconds. The time it takes to make a compressor has been reduced to 5 seconds, a 1.5 second improvement on the year before. The overall effect has been to increase production capacity by 31% over 2003.
