Daikin introduces second-generation VRV replacement for R22

Daikin, R22, VRV, air conditioning

Daikin Europe’s second-generation of its VRVIII-Q systems for replacing VRV systems using R22 offers larger-capacity outdoor units (5 to 48 hp) with a smaller footprint than corresponding R22 outdoor units, so one-to-one replacement is possible — even using existing power connections. Existing installation piping and, in many cases, the indoor units can be retained, minimising downtime and cost. VRVIII-Q uses R410A.

VRVIII-Q is designed to operate at the lower pressures that are suitable for R22 pipework, while maintaining high system efficiency.

The old system is cleaned automatically, even if a compressor has previously broken down, and the new refrigerant is charged automatically.

VRVIII-Q can replace all existing Daikin R22 and R407C VRV installations. In addition to possible efficiency gains, system capacity can be increased by over 40% without changing the refrigerant piping. Many non-Daikin systems can be upgraded.
