Busbar trunking

Elbagate, busbar trunking

Elbagate has been appointed UK distributor of the EAE range of busbar trunking. Made in Turkey, this range of trunking has ratings from 630 to 6300 A with tinned plated aluminium or copper conductors. There are versions with four, five and six conductors. The busbar housing is made from extruded aluminium and finished as standard in RAL epoxy paint, but it can be supplied in any RAL colour at no extra costs.

Conductors are assembled in a sandwich configuration to give a high fault-level withstand capacity and very low impedance — making these busbars suitable for the main supply, especially where long runs are required. The elements of a run are linked by a ‘single-bolt’ joint arrangement, which gives a very fast installation time.

Two versions are available. One is a feeder, and the second is a distribution bar with tap-off outlets. The second version is suitable for rising mains and does not require internal fire barriers between floors because the sandwich configuration of the conductors does not permit the passage of air or smoke.

Conductors are insulated using epoxy technology topped with a polyester film to form a hybrid insulation with a fire rating of 8 h without the need for extra fire-proofing cladding. The fire rating has been tested and certified in the UK.

Standard protection is IP55, which can be enhanced to IP65 and IP67 for outdoor applications.
