IES makes significant updates to ApacheHVAC

Integrated Environmental Solutions has announced significant updates to its VE-Pro module ApacheHVAC for building-integrated dynamic thermal modelling. A raft of enhancements across recent software revisions have significantly upgraded this module and made the world of detailed systems analysis notable more accessible.

UK engineers can now quickly and easily improve accuracy for analysing HVAC energy consumption and carbon emissions to support optimum system selection and the correct sizing of plant.

An extensive range of standard, high-performance and other non-conventional HVAC systems can be simulated with minimal effort and without work-arounds, truly supporting low-to-zero-carbon building design.

There is a new library of predefined systems to enable users to quickly import and customise prototype HVAC systems. The predefined library covers single-zone to large central systems — including all-air and static HVAC configurations. This feature will save significant time and improve productivity by facilitating auto-sizing and modelling. Alternatively, users can create HVAC systems from scratch using the program’s flexible schematic component-based approach.

Its connection to the MacroFlo bulk-airflow module makes it well suited for mixed-mode and building-integrated systems, including stack-effect double-skin facades, thermal labyrinths and earth tubes.
