This 61 kW solar PV installation greets visitors to Dimplex’s office near Southampton, which runs solar PV training courses.

In the first two months of operation, the 61 kW solar PV installation for the offices of Dimplex near Southampton produced nearly 19 MWh of electricity. Karen Trewick, marketing communications manager for the company, says, ‘As we run solar PV training courses here, it’s ideal to have a working installation on site.’

The first phase of the project was to install 16 panels with a total output of 3.7 kW during the Summer of 2010. The array faces southwest and performed so well that it was decided to cover most of the suitable roof area with a total of 268 modules.

The installation was carried out by Anesco, a Dimplex accredited renewable installer in July 2011.

Dimplex PV packages contain polycrystalline modules and all components required for installation. They are MCS accredited so they qualify for the Feed-in Tariff when fitted by an approved installer.
