LED floodlights slash energy consumption

Energy savings of over 80% are being achieved for floodlighting at a basketball club following the replacement of SON floodlights with Marl LED floodlights. The original installation of 12 SON fixtures of 350 W each at Hoops Basketball Centre in Barrow-in-Furness was replaced with eight 30 W and two 90 W floodlights.

The new fixtures are much more efficient and also better targeted onto the emergency exit routes rather than the surrounding grass.

Not only is energy saved, but the life of at least 50 000 h for the new units will reduce maintenance costs.
