London refurbishment features underfloor air conditioning

AET, underfloor air conditioning, air conditioning

As part of the full structural reconfiguration and refurbishment of 33 Glasshouse Street in central London, AET Flexible Space is supplying underfloor air conditioning. The building has a Grade 2-listed facade and is being refurbished to form larger, open-plan floor plates and Cat A office accommodation on floors three to seven.

AET is supplying its space-saving underfloor air conditioning to floors three to seven, which have a total area of 200 m2, working with consultants WPP and architects Buckley Grey Yeoman.

The system specified for this project is a CAM-C direct-expansion system with supply and return air distributed via the floor plenum. The Fantile terminal units are slimline TUS-EC units that are designed to fit into the shallow floor plenums that are common in London refurbishments and with EC motors for enhanced energy efficiency.

There will be no need for a ceiling void, and a floor-to-ceiling height of 3.3 m will be achieved. The project will use Daikin heat pumps to maximise the use of space and energy efficiency.

Main contractor McLaren is on target for a BREEAM ‘Very good’ rating.
