The inside story of clean ductwork

In response to the BESA (Building Engineering Services Association) ‘TR19 Guide to good practice — internal cleanliness of ventilation systems’ Interduct has developed a specialist chemical cleaning method for vertical risers. The method and product have been modified over the last four years, and the team now cleans over 500 risers a year.

Paul Downing, technical consultant to BESA, says, ‘One of the most effective methods that I have witnessed is the methodology used by Interduct, which involves equipment using the hot chemical viscosity method.

‘The benefits include non-agitation whilst reducing noise levels and the potential for damage to ductwork surfaces.

‘In addition, the method ensured competitive costs in comparison to mechanical cleaning methods.’
