Vent-Axia MVHR unit wins CIBSE award

The energy-efficiency features of Vent-Axia’s Sentinel Kinetic Advance MVHR (mechanical ventilation with heat recovery) have led it to winning a major award — the energy-efficient product or innovation of the year category of the CIBSE Building Performance Awards for 2017.

The judges were impressed by the product’s ingenious use of very modern technology, its ability to ‘deliver strong performance’ as well as ‘ease of installation’ and that internally it is made from all recycled materials.

Applications for Advance include care homes and student accommodation as well as new-build residential properties.

Air is extracted from wet rooms and over 93% of its energy transferred to the incoming fresh air.

These units can be controlled by a web-enabled app, which also supports commissioning. USB functionality enables pre-commissioning, saving time on developments with same-specification builds.

Specific fan power is 0.38 W/l/s with an airflow of 100 l/s at 150 Pa. At a trickle setting of 40%, noise is below 20 dB(A). Filters up to F7 grade filter out most impurities, including PM2.5 particles. There is automatic summer bypass, and night-time purge cooling can be delivered.
