Daikin Applied extends water-cooled chiller range

Daikin Applied UK, chiller, water-cooled, GWP, refrigerants

Daikin Applied UK (DAPUK) has unveiled a new generation of its water-cooled centrifugal compressor chiller range, which boasts improved energy efficiency thanks to the inclusion of a new type of refrigerant cooled inverter drive.

Available in a wide range of cooling capacities and component combinations, the new B Vintage chillers have been designed to deliver optimal performance at both full and part-loads. They can also operate with a choice of refrigerant* including low global warming potential (GWP) R-513A and R-134a in single or dual compressor models.

This is in line with the company’s philosophy of offering increased refrigerant choice to ensure customers comply with regulatory requirements, but without any need to sacrifice system performance.

The single compressor version of the B Vintage range (DWSC) provides excellent full and part-load performance. The dual compressor version (DWDC) provides outstanding part-load efficiency as well as system redundancy equivalent to two chillers, but at 35% lower cost than installing two separate chillers thanks to reduced hardware, installation and components.

B Vintage chillers can be accurately sized to meet the specific needs of a project thanks to the availability of DAPUK’s ‘right-sizing’ selection programme. The inverter also features flexible control functions that closely match the chiller’s performance to operating conditions. This means the system can deliver the required cooling capacity, but at minimal running speed so significantly reducing energy consumption.
