Peak performance from Quickfridge

Calling it a Quickfridge might be stretching it, but charity fundraiser Daniel Fairbrother made the most of support from Beijer Ref in the gruelling 100km Peak District Ultra Challenge.

Daniel, from Stevenage, tackled the course with a domestic fridge sponsored by Beijer Ref’s Quickfridge emergency cooling solution strapped to his back. He undertook the challenge in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity, in recognition of the treatment it has provided for his fiancée Hayley’s eight-year-old twin sons’ eye condition since birth.

Daniel completed this year’s London Marathon carrying the fridge (which he calls Tallulah) and decided to follow that with the equivalent of back-to-back marathons over the rugged Peak District terrain.

Howard Noble, Innovation and Marketing Director at Beijer Ref, said: “When we saw what Daniel was attempting we just had to get involved. It’s a magnificent effort for a wonderful cause and we are delighted to have helped him on his way.’’

Daniel is hoping to raise £5,000 for the charity and donations can still be made at his JustGiving page: https://bit.ly/3xRnAZW
