Making Waves

Arc-Tech (Scotland) has successfully delivered a £6 million M&E services package for Scotland’s premier tourist destination in Edinburgh.

The £60 million Lost Shore Surf Resort opened its doors to the public for the first time earlier this month where they were introduced to Scotland’s first, inland wave pool, as well as a range of brand new food and retail premises, 31 luxury lodges and 22 camping pods, SurfSkate and wellness treatments.

Arc-Tech joined Malcolm Group on-site earlier this year to install services that will support key, day-to-day operations of the resort’s extensive range of facilities.

Among those installed is an innovative, air-source heat pump farm – comprising three industrial scale pumps and a water storage and booster system housed within a specially designed plantroom solar PV panels, and 41 EV charging points.

The provider also installed all air conditioning, security, data, lighting and fire safety systems alongside low voltage power and an electrical power management system for the wave machine that enables electrical load shedding when in higher demand.

The contract directly supported 25 full-time jobs including the training of five trade apprentices, two of which only just joined Arc-Tech last summer as part of the firm’s annual trade apprentice intake.
