The Buteline system is WRAS-approved, designed based on hydraulic engineering principles, and is the preferred choice for water reticulation where freezing conditions are possible as Polybutene-1 (PB-1) pipe is able to withstand many freeze/thaw cycles.
Buteline PB-1 barrier pipe is flexible and incredibly easy to handle. One pipe does it all: Hot & cold plumbing, chilled water, central heating and Bute-Heatline UFH. PB-1 pipe has superior thermal properties – it is 1,800 times more thermally efficient than copper!
The lightness of polymers, whether as raw material granules or as thermoplastic fittings and PB-1 pipes, are better for the environment as for a given weight, more polymer material or finished goods can be freighted in a single load in comparison to metallic material or metallic finished goods, thereby reducing fuel use, carbon emissions and pollution.
