Qvantum’s innovative QE Series exhaust air heat pumps are delivering significant savings for residents of an apartment building in north London.

Installation company Baxter Heat Pumps was tasked with upgrading existing exhaust air systems from another manufacturer at 172 Liverpool Road, Islington, a block of 12 apartments. This case study is focused on a 125m2 split-level, three-bedroom property.

Data obtained from the first six months of 2025 (January-June inclusive) shows an average 44% reduction in energy use and operating costs for the homeowner. A further five QE systems have since been fitted and plans are now in place to roll out further installations throughout the apartment block.

Available in 4kW and 6kW output, the QE is an energy efficient exhaust air heat pump capable of providing heating, hot water and ventilation for living spaces up to approximately 200m2. A modular design means the units can be separated into two sections, allowing for easier handling and simpler installation.

The QE is inverter-controlled and has an integrated accumulator tank/thermal battery which enables true energy peak price shaving for both hot water and heating. It is also a common modular component across the Qvantum’s domestic product range.
