Cost-effective compliance with fire regulations

An economic and legal way of holding open fire doors in busy routes in three girls’ school is provided by Fireco’s Dorgard.

Fireco believes that its Dorgard device provides the simplest and most cost-effective way of legally holding fire doors open and releasing them if the fire alarm sounds. Its cost-saving benefits are being exploited at schools throughout England and Wales run by the Girls’ Day School Trust. GDST runs 28 schools and is the largest group of independent schools in the UK. To maintain an easy flow of staff and pupils along busy traffic routed without compromising, 30 Dorgards have been fitted to fire doors in busy corridors and corridors and classrooms in schools in Kensington, Croydon and Brighton. More than 20 000 Dorgards have been installed across the UK. It complies with all relevant British Standards, EU Directive and UK Fire Regulations.
