Plug-and-play air-handling units — Carrier’s AiroQ range includes sorption heat recovery as standard.
To simplify the specification of air-handling systems, Carrier has developed a packaged, complete air-handling system for air flows from 1.8 to over 11 m3/s and cooling capacities up to 190 kW with integrated controls and software. The AiroQ range draws together the air-conditioning expertise of Carrier, the air-handling tradition of Carrier Holland Heating and the controls expertise that Carrier has developed and acquired in recent years. The result is a fully integrated system with heat recovery as standard and all the on-board controls to optimise performance and interface easily with other building systems. The standard method of heat recovery is a sorption wheel to recover sensible and latent heat. Heating and cooling coils designed and made by Carrier are factory fitted to deliver a standardised ‘plug-and-play’ product that can be specified using a simple selection sheet. In addition to controlling temperature, humidity and air flow, the AiroQ software can also monitor various other parameters such as the degree of filter pollution, broken belts, minimum flow, speed control, and energy consumption. It can also provide early warnings of maintenance requirements via a modem. Options such as low-nose fans and additional sound attenuation are also available.
