R22 air-conditioning systems in the Milton Keynes store of John Lewis have been replaced by Weatherite Building Services.
As part of a major refurbishment of John Lewis stores in England and Scotland, Weatherite Building Services has upgraded air-conditioning in the Milton Keynes store. As principal contractor, Weatherite assumed total responsibility for recovering redundant R22 plant and designing, installing and commissioning replacement systems that include four Hitachi chillers and 21 Daikin split systems. Graham Mappledoram, maintenance surveyor (engineering) with John Lewis, comments, ‘The partnership is committed to green issues, and being environmentally friendly and energy efficient is important to us. Our new air conditioning is much more reliable and efficient than the old system. We are now confident that our store will be kept at just the right temperature all year round for our customers and staff.’ Weatherite has also carried out work in stores at Aberdeen, Cheadle and Peterborough.
