Electricity costs in the Southwark training centre of the London Fire Brigade have been cut by 25% following the installation of an Ex-Or lighting-control system.
25% has been lopped off the electricity bill of the main training centre of the London Fire Brigade in Southwark following the installation of Ex-Or lighting controls. This 7700 m2 specialist training centre is one of the largest buildings in the LFB’s estate. LightSpot presence-detecting lighting controls have been installed by the company’s own installation engineers in all parts of the centre. The LFB plans to control lighting throughout its estate by installing Ex-Or equipment for the management of lighting. The LightSpot presence detection system comprises discrete controllers with integral photocells to automatically switch lights on and off by monitoring the presence of occupants and measuring the amount of natural light available. The installation work was carried out over four weeks with minimal disruption.
