PC can show real-time energy use and carbon emissions

A simple and cost-effective way of presenting real-time data for electricity consumption, carbon emissions and costs is provided by PRI’s Scroller for XP. This data is displayed on a small bar that scrolls across the top of a computer screen. It disappears when a mouse cursor moves over it to avoid interfering with desktop folders and documents. The data displayed is accurate to the flick of a light switch. Enabling staff to see what energy they are using and its costs provides a sound basis for making appropriate reductions. Richard St Clair, sales director with PRI, says, ‘With Government proposing increased targets and more pressure on enterprises to save on energy costs, Scroller offers a practical scheme for single- or multi-site establishments to target energy use. ‘Businesses and organisations need to play their part in reducing carbon and creating an ethos of corporate social responsibility. It’s more effective when it runs throughout an organisation, and that message is carried home.’
