Web site focuses on the future of home heating

Low-carbon residential heating explained — Mitsubishi Electric’s dedicated Ecodan web site.
Mitsubishi Electric is highlighting the future of residential heating to installers and consumers with a new web site dedicated to its Ecodan award-winning low-carbon heating system designed specifically for the UK residential sector. Ecodan is an air-source heat pump that harvests free energy from the ambient air to provide heating and hot water. The system will work with radiators and underfloor heating and offers savings on fuel bills of up to 36% compared with traditional gas boilers and up to 45% on oil-fired systems. Importantly, too, Ecodan offers huge reductions in carbon-dioxide emissions over other forms of heating. The web site explains the benefits of air-source heat pumps over other forms of heating, answers general questions and offers plumbers and other installation professionals instructions on how to become an accredited installer. John Kellett, general manager of Mitsubishi’s heating department, says, ‘We believe Ecodan will continue to win over alternatives to gas heating, not only because of the simplicity of installation but also because it offers fantastic savings in people’s fuel bills.’ Ecodan runs off a normal domestic electric circuit and can be installed by a suitably qualified plumber who has been on the one-day accreditation course. It does not need CORGI and is not affected by the F Gas Regulation as the refrigeration circuit is self-contained and factory sealed.
