Irish EPA opts for natural ventilation

Natural ventilation designed and installed by WindowMaster has been used in the Wexford Base of the Environment Protection Agency in Southern Ireland. The NV Advance system installed comprises 420 motors controlling 62 different climate zones using temperature and CO2 sensors. Communal areas such as meeting rooms, kitchen and staff rest areas have both natural and mechanical ventilation. Air-change rates are based on room temperature and CO2. The building’s CO2 emissions are 40% lower than if only mechanical ventilation had been used. A weather station supplies a range of data to the control system, where it is analysed along with data from internal sensors and used to precisely control and position windows to keep air in rooms fresh and the temperature constant.
