Geberit approves new electro-fusion box

Geberit, plastic pipe jointing, fusion

Geberit has approved a new electro-fusion box for improved connection of its HDPE and Silent-db20 pipe systems. The company has worked with Advance Welding to produce the AW315G, which offers superior performance and greater overall efficiency during welding compared to its predecessors.

Using a 110 V supply, this electro-fusion box is a highly efficient way of connecting pipes and fittings using extreme heat and pressure produced during welding to make simple, reliable, rigid joints between the pipes. Heat is produced by an electric current flowing through the embedded heater wires in the sleeve fitting, which is placed around the two pipes, produce the heat required. The required pressure to make the joint is obtained via the shrinking of the fitting under welding conditions. This electro-fusion box can automatically weld couplings of up to 315 mm at 110 V.
