Building thermal modelling

BSRIA, thermal modelling, thermal model

BSRIA has prepared practical guidance on the delivery of thermal models. It is available in eBook and pdf format. The development and preparation of thermal models is now an integral part of the design process, in particular to demonstrate compliance with the Building Regulations.

Project teams are increasingly being asked to commit to future energy use, and thermal modelling is used to accurately predict future energy consumption. It is therefore important that the thermal models are subject to part of the quality-review process so that future disputes or claims do not arise as a result of any inaccuracies.

The guide focuses on dynamic and compliance thermal modelling (rather than CFD simulation) and provides an overview of the thermal-modelling process with a high level of strategic approach to quality requirements.
