Kalwall provides ideal lighting for the National Football Centre

This full-size indoor football pitch at the Football Association’s National Training Centre in Burton-on-Trent is surrounded by the Kalwall translucent daylight system to illuminate it without glare and shadows. A separate sports hall is also lit in the same way. This cladding admits Museum-Quality Daylighting [which is apparently a trademark].

The architect for this multi-purpose facility was Redbox Design Group. Main contractor was Bowmer & Kirkland.

Insulation and energy efficiency were enhanced by incorporating an aerogel within 950 m2 of the 2780 m2 of Kalwall used on the site to achieve a U-value of 0.28 W/m2K. Kalwall can be used for new build and for the refurbishment or cladding or rooflights on older buildings.
