Castle on course to double turnover

Castle Building Services, based in Hebburn, reports being on target to double its turnover this financial year — based on its first-quarter trading. The figures are significantly higher than expected and follow last year’s turnover of £20 million being 25% higher than the previous year.

The company opened an office in East Kilbride last year and launched Castle Green Services.

Staff numbers have increased since last November across all areas of the business, including project management and estimating. A specialist BIM manager has been appointed and a project manager to Castle Green Services.

The most recent contract wins are valued at £16.8 million. They include an apartment complex in Hungate, York, for Lend Lease. Other projects include the new Holmeside Campus for Sunderland College with BAM Construction, a new sports sciences facilities at Herriot Watt University for Bowmer & Kirkland, and a project to remodel production facilities for automatic specialist TRW with Key Property Services.

Commercial director Alan Carr, said, I believe our continued success is down to a number of factors, not least the tremendous team effort we put into each and every project that we undertake, irrespective of the size or value of the scheme. Our positive approach and high level of service and amount of repeat business with repeat business from some of the UK’s leading construction companies, factors that have recently been recognised by commendations from two key clients. — BAM Construction and Bowmer & Kirkland.’
