To meet the growing demand for charging devices such as smartphones and tablets via their USB socket, Nadine Deery, channel marketing manager with MK Electric, suggests replacing existing power points with USB-integrated switch sockets. She argues that retrofitting with USB is a strong investment case for hotels, offices, airports and universities.

MK integrated sockets have the USB ports underneath the switches, enabling them to be used at the same time as the mains sockets themselves are in use.

Dynamic device recognition ensures that devised are charges optimally and efficiently.

The addition of a pattress, sold separately, enables these USB switchsockets to be installed into a 25 mm back box, making retrofitting existing sockets easy and cost effective.
