USB charging from a wiring accessory

MK Electric, wiring accessories, USB

MK Electric’s range of wiring devices and accessories now includes a USB charging module for devices such as smart phones as the industry moves towards a common charger based on micro-USB. It provides two 5 V outputs so that two devices can be charged at the same time, without a loss of power.

For rapid charging of touchscreen tables, one outlet port can be used to deliver 2 A, or both outlet ports can be used at the same time to deliver a combined charge of 2 A.

If no devices are being charged, the unit disconnects itself automatically so that no power is used.

These modules can be used with an MK 50 mm-square Euro module front plate and are available in black or white to match existing MK modules. They can also be installed using a standard 35 mm backbox, suiting them to retrofit.
