Getting a jump on comfort
Powrmatic responded quickly to provide heating for the largest trampoline park in the south east of England — Base Jump in Rayleigh, Essex. It is situated in a converted 3250 m2 engineering facility; it has a capacity of 175 people and is said to be the first in the UK to have a trampoline ‘half pipe’.
When Base Jump moved in the existing heaters were not working, so Heventech Mechanical Services was invited to propose a solution.
Heventech’s Lee Wilkinson explains, ‘We identified that four Powrmatic NVx warm-air heaters would provide sufficient capacity to replace the previous six heaters in the building. These have been mounted along one wall and, combined with the existing destratification fans, provide even temperature distribution throughout the space. Powrmatic’s ability to deliver quickly from its factory in Somerset was also a key factor.’
The heaters are controlled by a Powrmatic MC200 on each unit to maintain a minimum temperature of 15°C, which is supplemented by body heat from activities in the space, which can raise the temperature by a further 4 to 5 K. The controllers also provide the option of free cooling in the summer using outside air.
