3D interface to SBEM becomes freely available from IES

Integrated Environmental Solutions has made access to SBEM (Simplified Building Energy Model) via its software free of charge. Google SketchUp, Autodesk Revit and existing IES users will not require any other software to access the free SBEM module.

Called VE-SBEM, this front-end interface provides a 3D graphical route to the non-dwelling UK compliance SBEM engine and is available at the IES web site below.

VE-SBEM users can bring SketchUp and Revit 3S models effortlessly into IES using plug-ins without any re-entering of data.

David McEwan, UK director for IES, comments, ‘It’s incredibly exciting to be able to offer to the UK market the first completely free and more intuitive 3D model route to SBEM. Professionals no longer have to struggle with the laborious iSBEM interface. A free 3D graphical route linked to key design tools such as SketchUp is now available.’

VE-SBEM is suitable for use across the whole of the UK (England and Wales, N. Ireland and Scotland).
