Wind-farm visitor centre breezes in

Grundfos

Britain’s first onshore wind-farm visitor centre uses Grundfos pumps to achieve high environmental standards. This wind farm is 55 km2 with 140 turbines having an output of 322 MW.

Facilities in the visitor centre include an exhibition space, 60-seat theatre, retail outlets and a cafe.

The energy-efficient pumps installed include the A-rated Alpha2 (pictured) and a Hydro Multi-E booster set for the water supply.

The site has also created new tracks and roads as well as restoring areas of the local habitat to encourage more wildlife. The wind farm itself and other recreational attractions are expected to draw 70 000 visitors a year.
