Retrofit energy meter is non-invasive

Carlo Gavazzi, retrofit energy meter

An energy meter with a detachable display from Carlo Gavazzi is designed for retro-fitting to provide a simple route to metering energy in existing installations. The EM21-72R can be mounted on a 72 mm-square footprint or on a DIN rail using four modules. Current is measured using external miniature current sensors included with the meter.

The current sensors use a split-core technology, so no wiring modifications are needed, and there is no need to disconnect cables during installation. The current sensors are available with ratings of 90, 150 and 250 A.

A pulsed output provides data to PCs and PLCs for load control. All electrical parameters can be sent via the optional RS-485 port for integrating with a BMS and other standard acquisition-monitoring systems.
