MK skeleton units simplify electrical upgrading

MK Electric, distribution boards

MK Electric’s Sentry range of skeleton units are spine backplate assemblies that fit within Mantel or Clifton type enclosure, essentially a kind of metal utilities cupboard, which may also contain the meter. These enclosures are particularly prevalent in social housing, which is a main area of activity under the Government’s Decent Homes Initiative.

The Sentry skeleton range is particularly designed for refurbishment programmes to provide a modern and easily installed unit that meets the highest safety regulations.

The range complies with the 17th Edition of the Wiring Regulations. For ease of installation, the DIN rail can be easily removed for first fix. Backed-out and captive combi-head screws also make for a quicker and easier installation.

Flexible neutral-bar configurations and a floating busbar system enable a wide combination of protected and unprotected circuits, as well as offering configuration flexibility depending on local-authority requirements — be it split-load/dual RCD/all RCBOs.

Sentry skeleton units are available in two types. One includes a 100 A switch disconnector and accepts 12 more single-module devices. The other is a split-load unit with a 100 A switch disconnector and 63 A 30 mA RCD, complete with prefitted interconnecting cabling.
